Hebron Fire Receives Rapid COVID Tests

Hebron, Ky – Hebron Fire Protection District will be one of the first Fire and EMS agencies in the Commonwealth to utilize rapid COVID tests. The tests will be key in screening first responder personnel who are serving our communities. This provides an additional layer of protection for maintaining our emergency response workforce, while reducing the chance of accidental exposure to the community.

The Federal Government had provided the Kentucky Department of Public Health (KDPH) with Abbot BinaxNOW™ COVID 19 Ag cards. These test cards have been distributed to designated facilities with high-risk, vulnerable populations through coordination with Federal, State, and local agencies. These tests are a rapid antigen lateral flow immunoassay test with a nasal swab that provides accurate results in as little as 15 minutes.

The tests will be available for and administered by Hebron Fire Protection District personnel. The limited use is to ensure that Hebron Fire is serving the residents and visitors of our district and neighboring districts with healthy personnel. We continue to maintain a high commitment in leading our community’s response to COVID-19 and providing the same level of care you have come to expect from our personnel.

If you are a member of our community and need a COVID test or help deciding if you should be tested, we would encourage you to visit the St. Elizabeth COVID Testing Website at the following URL: https://stelizabeth.com/covid-testing.
